I've reviewed some of the (many!) online "urinal/bathroom rule" guides. Fascinating. My new question is: Is this really true? I think it is dormitory-based:

"13. Flushing is optional. Over time, the water will become a rich
orange. At this point, flushing is mandatory."

I've gathered the appropriate thing to do is not to "pair" oneself with the loner; however, by choosing the rightmost open space, aren't you doing a disservice to the middle gent by pinning him between two people?

as for 13 that is really a case by case basis....

And for the other situation, it depends on the "scaryness" of the first guy.
