John is probably most familiar to other foreign transfer students, especially fellow Brits such as Enfys Keel, thanks to the school's vague enthusiasm at shoving foreigners together and hoping they have enough common ground to make a little island of friendliness within the United States of American Students. Or something like that, is his general impression of the process, although it didn't really help with getting teased for being in a grade below his age. Luckily, he was far more creative with his insults and dirtier with his fighting than the bullies, so they moved on to easier targets soon enough.
He also somehow attracted the attention of Blake Angler, which is impossible to escape noticing. Or escape in general. This has led to John being encouraged into some very detention-worthy activities, although really, it doesn't take much encouragement to achieve.
Whenever he's not too busy in detention or suffering from too much of a hangover, John can generally be found either in the library or participating in band. At least, where the word "participating" translates into "tooling about on the guitar and occasionally following the tune." He'd have a better voice if he could lose the accent whilst singing, not to mention stop smoking outside of school (and in school if he can manage it.) He's also surprisingly well-read for someone with such a tendency towards deliquency, although most of it isn't exactly curricular materials. And he sometimes gets thrown out of the library for laughing or declaring that he should set certain books on fire for everyone's good.
He's never invited anyone round to hang out, and is in fact the ultimate in dirty stop outs, although most people would only know the latter part of that.
