Addicted to Hornblower, please send help. Have only two more episodes left and am seriously considering buying all the books (and there are a lot) from Amazon. Curse my weakness for the high seas and people with stupid ideas about honour and loyalty and also really nice uniforms I want one.

"Lieutenant Hornblower" was my gateway book, for what it's worth. "Mutiny" and "Retribution" were based upon it.

Both slash and cookies are sufficient incentives - I have ordered the first omnibus! And it has 'Lieutenant Hornblower' in it (which I can't help pronouncing the American way, even though I'm British. Damn you, Star Trek!)

Also, if you think the telly eps are slashy, read between the lines of the books and it's even better...

Hah, really? Sounds awesome. Although I understand Archie's not really in the books, except as a background character, which is very sad. Buuut on the other hand, I love all the main cast about equally so I suppose I'll cope.
