Okay, this is an incredibly trite comment to make after what you've said here, but... your brain is so frigging hot.

This right here? Is the best compliment you could have given me. Thank you, love.

Funny thing is, I always knew Chicago politics was corrupt. I think this is the first time I really GOT it. When I was in community college, the bank I worked at was raising money for the family that lost 5 of its 6 members to that truck driver. They banked at that bank. I had almost forgotten about that until the trial came up and Ryan went to jail. I was definitely out of politics enough then that it did not really sink in.

I was stunned, literally stunned, when I heard the quotes on NPR of what he was saying. How could anyone be that bleeping corrupt, and bleeping stupid totalk about it on the phone. Doesn't any of them watch "The Wire"?!?

This was a beautiful summation of the whole thing. And I bet my parents are even MORE satisfied with their choice to retire to Tennessee, if this recent snow and frigid cold was not enough.

A few things:
1) I love this summation of Chicago politics. You've given me some background that I didn't really have, not having grown up here.
2) It's rumored that Emanuel was one of the informants that lead to Blago getting wiretaps in the first place.
3) Where's Emil Jones in this diatribe?
4) Where are the Madigans?

1) Thank you! The Chicago political landscape is really fascinating, ort of like stories about the mob or exceptionally arrogant aristocracy ( ... )

When I voted for Hot Rod last time around, I was hoping for something like this. It's a Fitzmas miracle.

It's so much that I almost can't believe it's real (and it makes good old Saxby Chambliss here in Atlanta seem like an absolute saint).

I used to wonder how DC could re-elect a crack addict, and then I started paying attention to Chicago politics.
