Oh, poor Jim. I'm surprised the aliens left him with the memories of Bones and Chekov being dead even when they wiped out everything else. Although I suppose that wouldn't have left any emotional impact otherwise. And then Jim wouldn't have to be dealing with his short-term grief and the realization on what Bones meant to him. I think he's more upset that he didn't realize what Bones meant to Jim until he thought he lost him instead of when he's still alive. But Bones will go to his quarters wanting to know what happened and then there'll be sexytimes, right? XD
Well, basically that first point stems from the original episode not being overly specific on how many memories the crew was left with and the fact that it's a lot more sadistic fun to leave Jim with the remnants of his grief. Jim's still riding the realization train, but I think an epiphany or two might be right around the next corner. ;-) I don't know yet if I'll up the rating for the next chapter, but there will be talking. In someone's quarters. Beds might be involved. I'll shut up now.
Yay! Everybody fixed. It's kinda a shame that Jim can't remember the aliens, because he totally kicked ass. If he's got to remember the deaths he ought to be able to remember the way he convinced them to fix it. But I guess that would bring up too many complications.
Ah well. Now Jim just has to admit to himself that he loves Bones and everything will be hunkydory :)
Yeah, the original episode was a little fuzzy on the details of what was remembered and what not, and admittedly I picked the choice that was most easiest to write considering where I want this story to go. ;-) So we'll just go with too many complications now, that's a good idea. Glad you enjoyed it, thank you so much for the comment.
The next chapter should be up soon, I just need to manage to get those two thick-headed, stubborn idiots right where I want them to. Should be no problem at all. ;-)

I mean, I should have known that you wouldn't kill off Bones, but I was horribly worried, especially about Chekov.
And, poor Jim! That's a kick in the gut and the teeth and it's no wonder that he's having a meltdown. I just hope that Bones sets him straight.
Lovely!
