In order to clarifying the following a bit, I should say that I went to look at several flats today (I think I saw about 6 one bedroom flats in various parts of central and semi-central Helsinki)... This is the last post I'll be making from my flat in Turku. As I type, my furniture is on its way to my family's summer house up in the country for storage. I did it :D
I managed to complete Naisten Kymppi (the 10km race I entered before Easter) in under the time limit Hal and I set as a bet ;) Which means that a certain young Yorkshireman has until March 24th 2013 to complete the London Marathon. Scenes of Turku, or, The strange things to be seen in broad daylight
After not speaking to anyone out loud yesterday (I spent the whole day at home), I went out to see a friend in town this morning. Despite training for the 10k race next month several times a week, walking can still be a tricky, and I almost tripped over my own feet on the bridge that crosses the Aura-river right next to the Cathedral. As some of you might already now, my mum and I set a wager a few months ago. The terms of said wager specify that unless I manage to submit a passable draft of my thesis to my supervisor by no later than May 4th (which happens to be my dad's 60th birthday), I will owe my mother a facial. I must be insane!
I just entered this spring's Naisten Kymppi (a 10km race in Helsinki, more info at http://www.naistenkymppi.fi/site/english.html). I did however manage to make Hal agree to running the London marathon before he turns 30 seeing as I'm now doing this before my 25th birthday -

I went to see the new Sweeney Todd-film on Saturday and loved it, even though the last 15 minutes or so made me feel slightly sick.
The young actor who plays Anthony has joined my list of people who have such lovely voices that I could just listen to them speak and sing regardless of what they said or sang ;) -
A day of mixed blessings...
After being nervous and worried for most of yesterday, we all sighed in relief when my sister-in-law went into labour at around 10.30 yesterday evening. She gave birth to a healthy baby girl (just under 3kg) just before 8 this morning (well technically yesterday morning, as it's past midnight ( Read more... ) -

My brother took his wife to hospital just now, because she's got pre-ecclampsia-like symptoms. My s-i-l is due to deliver their 2nd baby on March 20th.
I'm worried.
