Below Is an email that my father-inlaws friend in Lousiana sent him. He is a senetor but I am not sure is he wrote this or not so I need to ask him. I just wanted to know what you guys thought about this

this man loses all credibility in my book because he writes like shit-it amazes me that elected officials lack basic writing skills. its obvious that he is just throwing around half-ass accusations that i would bet my children on never happened.
everything that comes out of any politician in louisiana is ass covering spin. the president fucked up the most and will try to pass this on to anyone.
Do you also think it's because they're black and poor too?
It's amazing how every single thing that happens in this country that's bad gets blamed on the President. When did INDIVIDUAL states not have to take care of themselves??? It's not the President's responsibility to make sure the levee was repaired. That's the governor's problem.
I don't know if you saw her bitching and moaning about how she was pissed off at the federal government and how they didn't do their job and they were to blame, and then later in another interview she was asked, "What do you have to say about the people who think that you didn't do what was necessary to make sure the levees were repaired and she said, "Now is not the time to be pointing fingers".
Everyone wants to blame everyone else for a natural disaster that couldn't have been avoided.
I'm not sure how it was her responsibility to make sure the levees were repaired; Money is allocated to the ACOE federally, and that's who handles the maintenance. They simply weren't getting the money, no matter how you try to spin it. The Governor failed in other areas, primarily basic leadership.
President. Governor. Mayor. FEMA. DOHS. All are to blame.
Ive got to agree with you on this not that I am a big bush lover either but I dont see why everything gets blamed on him either. Escpecailly a natural Disaster. I think that in order for changes to be made something bad has to happen somtimes. Hopfully any other cities that might be have something similar happen will step up and change things. This happening although horable and sad, could save thousands more in the future as people take steps to make better evacuation plans and such. Sometimes we have to learn from our mistakes. That is how life works. If nothing bad ever happened we wouldnt know how to deal with bad things if they ever did happen. I hope that my rambling mixed thoughts just made sense but prob. not. lol I suck at this writeing my thoughts thing.
I'll preface this by saying it could get long, but hopefully I'll drop some knizowledge on the subject.
First off, instead of just typing all of this out, I'm going to link to something from another messageboard. Pay specific attention to the information regarding the Department of Homeland Security, as well as the letter signed by the governor of Louisiana asking for assistance from the federal government(the guy links it in his post).
Furthermore, you can view this to see proof that aide was asked for, and granted, 2 days before Katrina made landfall. That put the federal government in charge at that point

Thanks for the comments guys and thanx Nox for the Links. You did the hard work for me. I am assuming that since those things are not all fact that the my father inlaws senator friend from school was forwarding an email he had recieved and just didnt know the facts himself. Overall I still enjoyed reading the letter and all of your responses.
