A Dream Come True
To bake a cake, and decorate it with one candle and an iced “Happy Birthday”, that was all Martha wanted. Her own body had failed her four times now, but she’d never stopped dreaming of that first birthday party.
One day in 1989, she and Jonathan bought flowers from Nell, fairy princess Lana granted her a wish and meteors fell on Smallville.
With the meteors there was a little boy, who needed a mommy.
A year later, Martha baked her cake, decorated it with four candles, not one, and sang “Happy Birthday” to her son, Clark.
