Telepathy doesn't require language. Telepathy works by transfering concepts from one mind to another. I mean, not *real* telepathy - who knows if that even exists. But the theory of telepathy is that it transfers concepts.

So instead of me hearing the words look.out.for.the.doctor I would experience the concepts of "looking out for" and "The Doctor", and would then render them into English in order to express them.

That, at least, is the theory.

Dorothy L. Sayers was at Somerville in the 1910s. Haven't read the Lord Peter Wimsey stories in years, but I do adore them. Gaudy Night is a great novel with a fictional woman's university at Oxford. Just a cameo of DLS might be lovely?
