Doctor Who - fic - Plenty of Pain, Jack, PG, spoilers for Utopia
I'm doing the fic based on book quotes thing again, with To Reign In Hell, by Steven Brust.

Until you have ten (or thereabouts) quotes. Take said ten (or so) quotes and write drabbles based on them. You can use the whole quote, or just a section, even a word - all that matters is that you stay faithful to the first sentence part of the challenge.
1st one's Jack, based on that bit in Utopia.

Plenty of Pain

There’s plenty of pain here, but it don’t kill, Mark Twain (pg20)
Killed by a Dalek’s ray, on the Games Station.
And then, alive again.
Shot through the heart, on Ellis Island.
And then, alive again.
Fell off Beachey Head.
And then, alive again.
Trampled by stampeding stallions, on Exmoor.
And then, alive again.
Shells, at Ypres, Verdun and the Somme.
And then, alive again, all three times.
Faulty parachute, somewhere over northern France.
And then, alive again.
Poison gas, on a secret military base.
And then, alive again.
Starvation, during post-war rationing.
And then, alive again.
A stray javelin, at the ’48 Olympics.
And then, alive again.
More bullets, electrocution, carbon monoxide poisoning.
And then, alive again.
Life sucked out of him, by a demon.
And then, alive again.
Killed by the Time Vortex, clinging to the outside of the TARDIS.
And then, alive again.
Electrocuted, on Malcassairo.
And then, alive again.
Jack’s had one hundred and thirty eight years of the slow lane to get used to the idea of not dying, and many more of often being the only man for a job.
And so he goes into the radiation chamber, to help save the remains of the human race.
There’s plenty of pain here, but it don’t kill.
