Sparkling Diamonds, by Laura
Captain Jack Harkness tethers his Chula ship to Notre Dame.
It is 1899, and Paris is collectively drunk on absinthe; invisibility seems to be unnecessary. Anything, including strange craft and glittering fairies, can easily be blamed on too much vicious green alcohol.
He transports down to street level and walks to Montmatre, to the Moulin Rouge. To Satine, the Sparkling Diamond. They have sparkled together on several occasions. It’s always wonderful.
And it is always, strictly business; nothing more, nothing less.
Deep kisses, soft caresses. And, gods, the sex. Satine knows a thing or two that even Jack didn’t. And he thought he knew everything there was to know about sex. One particular thing was so amazing that Jack laughed in surprise and delight when Satine did it to him. The laughter was soon followed by sighs of pleasure.
Jack knows a lot of courtesans, prostitutes, hookers, rent boys. Having era and country appropriate money on hand is easy, in his line of work. The Sparkling Diamond, Monsieur Zidler’s pride and joy, is brilliant at what she does, and Jack always pays Satine a lot more than she asks for.
