Might Be Ending In A Kiss

If we both were born
in another place and time
this moment might be ending in a kiss
He takes my hand. He pulls me onto the dance floor. We hold each other close, dancing slowly. The music ends, and just as I’m about to kiss him, the Rift crashes open, spilling blue-white light into the room.
“I have to go,” I tell Jack, cursing the interruption, but at the same time, proud of my team. “It’s my duty.” He nods at me in reply; I pull away, walking towards the light.
Then I remember a song I once heard. So I go back to Captain Jack Harkness, take his face in my hands and kiss him.
I would love for this moment to end in a hell of a lot more than a kiss, but there just isn’t time, Tosh and I need to go.

Later, after toasting the hot guy I stole my name from, after sending everyone home, I fantasise...
...We go back to Jack’s quarters (Tosh following us, a few paces behind), we have some amazing sex and I make him moan with pleasure.
The next morning, after I’ve sent Jack off to die, with another kiss, the Rift opens...
But it is only a dream, and just kissing him is gonna have to be enough.
For him, it was probably more than enough.
