Of course he’d made that joke. Hell, everyone who’d pulled the film from the Agency’s library made that joke with their Manipulator’s hologram maker.
One day, when they were drunk, high, and sprawled out on a bed, lazily kissing, the suggestion had been made that they go and see all nine films.
So they’d started in 1977, conning their way into a cinema (still the best way to see a film) by flashing psychic paper. The people were hot; the ships were beautiful. When it was over, they’d both said, “Next one?”
Hell, yes. They hadn’t needed to wait, so they’d gone straight off to see The Empire Strikes Back. Being a Time Agent really could be so incredibly cool.
Jack would have smiled at the memory, but he was too busy working out what his former partner could be doing on Earth.
And then they were too busy kissing.
