When Camelot Met Torchwood
by Laura

He knew he still hadn’t quite mastered the haul spell, so Merlin was rather surprised when a sun seemingly appeared right in front of him and Arthur. And when it surrounded them, swallowed them, and Merlin could do nothing to stop it, Arthur was just very annoyed, very loudly that Merlin hadn’t finished his sire’s armour.

Merlin was very grateful when Arthur then passed out, as the sun held both of them its grip. Oh, he was going to tease him like mad over that one. It was then that he knew he himself was going to black out. Merlin held Arthur close, muttered the amddiffyniad spell he had mastered, let the dark take him and hoped for the best.

“Rift spike! Right in our living room!” Jack yelled, as he watched Toshiko’s computers go haywire. Gwen and Ianto joined him, but they all turned away from the screens when there was a whoosh behind them. The whoosh was followed by a loud thump.

The thump was followed by a grin, when Jack saw just what the Rift had delivered to them this time: a pair of cute guys, blond and dark-haired, holding each other close.

“C’mon,” he said, turning to the two people who currently comprised his team, “Let’s go and help them.”

Ianto rolled his eyes at him, but he and Gwen dutifully followed their Captain.

Landing on somewhere hard woke Merlin, but not Arthur. He quickly glanced around, taking in what clearly wasn’t Camelot, before calling his sire’s name. “Come on, Arthur, wake up.”

“Arthur?” said an accent he didn’t know. He looked up at the three people who’d silently approached. “Does that make you a knight, kid?” the man added, clearly joking.

“I wish,” he replied, not joking.

“Arthur Pendragon?” the other man asked, in a more familiar accent.

Merlin nodded. He then watched this man turn to the woman, and the two of them smiled at each other like children.

“Who are you then, kid?” the man with the strange accent asked. “You say you’re not a knight. Are you Merlin?”

He rolled his eyes. “Oh, yes, sir. That’s me.”

Arthur then stirred. “Sire?” Merlin asked, turning his attention back to him. “Are you all right?”

“Where in hell’s name are we, Merlin?” he replied.

Merlin grinned, and they both stood. “I don’t know, Arthur.”

“Torchwood. Ianto Jones, your Highness,” the man with the familiar accent said.

“Hey!” The man with the strange accent sounded distinctly put out.

“Jack Harkness, you are not flirting with King Arthur,” the woman said. “No matter how handsome he is. This is our legend we’re talking about, mine and Ianto’s.”

“Can I flirt with his wizard, Gwen Cooper?”

“You already did, I think,” she replied.

“And I think we’ll be going,” Merlin said. “Drws. Camelot.” He took Arthur’s hand, the door took them, and he waved goodbye to Torchwood.

Much later that day, in his lover’s bed, Jack leered, and said to Ianto, “Can I show you my magic?”

“If you must, Captain,” Ianto replied, pulling Jack down to him, and kissing him.

Elsewhere, Merlin and Arthur wondered just how people they had never met, in clothing they had never seen, knew exactly who they were.

“Warlock,” the Dragon said, when Merlin asked him, “Everyone knows the two of you. You are known throughout time, especially in these lands.”

When the beast then flew away, Merlin chose not to shout after him this time.
