As an apology for making you all so sad yesterday, here's a continuation of the 55 Words story. I hope you like it!
The Return
Rating: teens
Set during "The Reign of the Supermen" aka "The Return of Superman"
Where there had once been one, there were now five - a shapeshifting girl created in a pocket universe by an alternate version of Lex and a boy with Clark’s 15 years old looks and Lex’s 15 years old attitude, both of whom counted forms of telekinesis among their powers. Also, a man with yellow glasses, a cyborg and an armored man. Some claimed to be Superman; some just wanted to help.
Five became six, when a man clad in silver and black arrived. He, too, claimed to be Superman. He had no powers, and this time, Lex wanted proof. Atticus Finch’s story, a kiss and a repeat of the promise of eternal love that Clark had given to him before he went after Doomsday one last time went a long way towards convincing Lex that this man was in fact his Clark.
There was no time to pursue this, though, as the cyborg had shown himself to be an enemy, and Coast City needed help. The black clothed man, the boy, the armored man and the girl went to the west coast. Lex went back to the penthouse.

Lex was woken by a tapping on the French windows. “It had better not be that bird again,” he muttered. Drawing the drapes, he was confronted by a much more familiar shield, courtesy of Supergirl. He threw the windows open. Now, there was no doubt whatsoever in his mind, and Lex was in Superman’s arms faster than the proverbial speeding bullet, kissing him like mad.
When they eventually needed to breathe again, Lex’s first words were, “I knew you weren’t dead, Clark. I could feel it, somehow.” Clark said, “I could hardly abandon you, could I, Lex? Goodness only knows what trouble you’d manage to get yourself into!”
And with that, Clark flew them home, closed the windows and drew the drapes behind them.
Clark's window had been flung wide open, and Lex could see his amazing soul.
It had been six months since they'd last made love, and that situation was soon rectified.
