Plain English on government forms? What a concept! It seems as if they feel it's far better to confuse the hell out of people so they can more easily screw them sometimes, doesn't it?
The USCIS site contradicts itself so many times, it's unbelievable. We had to constantly call the hotline. They don't allow anyone to talk directly to their case-worker. They prefer to send these confusing letters.
Thanks. :) Next time we get any mail from the Gov, we will ask you to translate it. This was the 1st letter we understood, which told us that our case is closed because we didn't include 2 things. But the previous letter they didn't say what those 2 things were. *screams* They are so frustrating!
We got a letter saying that our case was denied and that Wim must leave the US. We have since talked to an immigration lawyer about appealing the verdict.
What????? OH my freaking God! I'm so sorry that you have to fight such a horrible battle. You don't deserve this kinda garbage! You're both in my thoughts and prayers!
What was so annoying is in the letter they referred to the previous letter as "clearly stated" when all of us including my parents read that letter over & over. My Mom worked for the Gov for 40 years and she says that's how all their documents are.
EEP. I hope you both are able to get this situation cleared up soon. A classmate of mine was dealing with a similar situation for her fiance to get residency before they got married(he was from Mexico), and she was so panicked about it. Though I have not seen her since last semester, so I have no idea what happened.

Basic english is always a useful thing, especially from our own government.
