Today ruled. We drove to Douthat State Park in my new car ('03 dark blue Honda CR-V; more on this later) and kayaked around the lake and hiked about the beautiful Alleghany mountains. It was a really pretty day, though a little windy - we definitely took on some water in the kayak, but it was goodtimes. We split a bottle of wine and sunbathed in

ooh i have been wanting a pair of shoes so very similar. it's very fry-y here lately. i have been putting sunblock on my arms just to drive. but you won't fry as long as you remember your trusty spf! :) have you found a place? (obviously you must have). i'm having jaw surgery next week, and right around the time you move here is right around when i'll be able to parrr-tay again! yay, exciting :)

We don't have a place yet, actually (scary, I know). Mike's work is flying him out there June 5 - June 11 and I will join him towards the end of that week to view some apartments and stuff. Hopefully we will find one that we like enough to sign a lease on! I should have corresponded with the apartment leasors enough before we even fly out to have a good idea of whether we like the places or not (or at least, that's how it works out in my head..).
