SCD: Week 10

Nov 21, 2009 20:17

Bruce is back :-( I don't wish him ill, but, still, I prefered him not being there!

Jade & Ian:
Oh poor Jade. She wasn't my favourite dancer, but she was good and no one should have to go out like that. I'll look forward to seeing her dance her tango in the final if she can manage it. And that'll mean a two couple final again. I was glad they had the issues in the semi last year that resulted in the three couple final, because it's never the same with two. Ah well, nothing to be done about that now.

Ali & Brian:
That was absolutely gorgeous! I'm always amazed you can still see her shaking though. Bless her! (8, 9, 9, 9.) What the heck was Craig thinking? That was definitely a 9.

Natalie & Vincent:
Oh dear. Far from my favourite of their dances. In places it kinda looked a bit of a mess, and I thought the technique was a bit dodgy. Plus, I wasn't a fan of the choreography. Her enthusiasm still shone through, but it wasn't her strongest. (6, 7, 8, 5.) Wow! Since when did Bruno hit the bottom score? That's not a very common sight!

Chris & Ola:
The song felt a little slow for a Viennese, and I think that was responsible for the overuse of pivots in the choreography. That said, I did like the song and the dance. (7, 8, 7, 7.)

Ricky & Natalie:
Being nitpicky, their arms at the very beginning weren't in sync and that put me off a bit. And, choreographically, I don't think the big overhead lift fitted in with the music or the rest of the dance, and consequently just looked like they were showing off. Yay Len agreed with me on the lift! (9, 8, 10, 9.)

Laila & Anton:
Two days? I'm impressed. No, it wasn't perfect, but it was very good. I think that was a little weird of Alesha to say about putting hours in this week, when she couldn't have put much time in due to injury. Any other week fair enough, but not this week. (6, 8, 7, 8.)

Ricky & Erin:
Slightly weird move playing "I'm Still Standing" over their VT, it just made me think of The Jive (TM) and this is never going to compare favourably to that! heh *watches* Hmm, that didn't grab me even if you ignore the mistakes. A forgettable routine. (5, 6, 6, 5.)

I really liked Darren and Lilia's swing routine! And Lilia especially really looked the part in her costume :-)

Oh, do they have to expand the dance repertoire again?! Yes, I'm a traditionalist. And I don't like the Charleston. Meh.

Eeee Madonna song yay!!!! I love "Frozen". And that lighting was fantastic, it really added to the atmosphere of it.

Is Gary Barlow writing everyone's new songs?! He gets about a bit!

Dance Off:
Of those couples, I'm crossing my fingers for Laila and Anton. Hmm, Ricky and Erin were much better than earlier though. Ooh, good, Laila and Anton got to stay. I'm pleased. :-) It's kinda sad Anton and Erin had to go up against each other though!
