SCD: Week 13
I will say now, before this all starts, if Ricky and Natalie get full marks for the Argentine Tango and thus become the first people to not even drop one point in that dance, I may go after Craig in retrospect for not giving Mark and Karen a 10!
On with the show...
Chris & Ola
Rumba: I enjoyed it. That said, it was crowd-pleasing rather than judge/Len-pleasing. There weren't a whole lot of basic rumba figures in there. I'm surprised it was Darcey rather than Len that mentioned the lack of steps! Though I guess there was no point in him repeating it. Ooh, it's nice that they have the pros in Tess's room there to beef up the numbers a bit! (7, 7, 8, 8, 8.)
Argentine Tango: I so, so, so want this to be fabulous. Mark and Karen hadn't had a ten until the AT, maybe history will repeat itself? Ooh, nice! I preferred that to Ali and Brian's! :-D And I love Ola's dress!! Oh Bruno shut up about his damned face! He's trying, and I honestly am not sure he could make it look any better. Maybe that's just how his facial expressions are. Yay Craig!! And Len! I love Len. He's now my hero. (8, 8, 9, 9, 8.) As much as it was probably a dance worth of a nine and I do feel like a hypocrite saying this, I'm kinda sad there wasn't even one ten.
Total: 38 + 42 = 80
Ali & Brian
Argentine Tango: Not a fan of Ali's dress! I liked the routine though, more than I liked their tango last week. Hmm, I missed the mistake(s). Wonder where that happened, I'll have to rewatch. She's getting a bit of a kicking this week. That might work in her favour with the public vote though. (8, 8, 9, 8, 9.)
American Smooth: Gorgeous!! Her least nervy performance to date, and eeeee the kiss!!! 50/50, please!!!!!! (10, 10, 10, 10, 10.) YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Total: 42 + 50 = 92
Ricky & Natalie
Waltz: No, no, no, no, no. This is Vincent and Flavia's song. They did an amazing dance to this. You do not use it again. It was good but the song choice annoyed me and kinda overshadowed the whole thing. I know they're not supposed to repeat a song that's been used in the competition before, but I wish they'd extend that to things the pros have used in the show as well. This is getting 50, isn't it. *pout* (9, 9, 10, 9, 10.) Craig, Darcey, and Alesha?! You surprise me! (But I'm not complaining!)
Argentine Tango: You know what, though I'll be annoyed at Mark and Karen losing their joint record, I could handle a 50 happening here a little better now that it won't be the first ever! Okay, it was good, and deserves a high score. But there was a little foot error there. Which everyone seems to have missed in the studio. I think I've missed something because, for me, that didn't touch me in the same way as Mark and Karen's did. I know I have a special place in my heart for Mark and Karen, but even so, I don't think this one quite had the same chemistry or magic. I predict 49, after Craig's comment. (9, 10, 10, 10, 10.) I'm not sure how you can justify tens when there was an error. By definition, that's not perfection.

Darcey's dancing? Yay! OMG she's dancing jive?!?!! That was a brave decision for a professional ballerina!!! But I loved it, absolutely loved it.
I'm going to put in votes for my favourite dance tonight, which was that American Smooth. Though I will also be putting in votes as you requested, smishpixie, don't worry!
As with last week, there will be a separate post for the results show later!
