Want me to cross post this in my LJ? I've got a totally different set of LJ friends, so it will widen your list of potential homes considerably. (A lot of them are cat loving suckers softies.)
Wish I could take her. Distance aside, I'm in no position to keep a cat, my folks draw the line at that, plus my nephew is petrified of them. Not dogs, though, fortunately.
But she reminds me so-o-o much of my beloved Bear, my first cat from CT. She was such a great cat! She moved up to Maine with my youngest brother. She became his favorite cat, and he's had tons of them. (I think he's back down to 8, from a high of 13 or so.) I still miss her - she died rather young of kidney disease.
