What is wrong with a boy telling a girl he loves her? What is wrong if she doesn't love him back?
You answer this yourself in the very next paragraph: I won't tell him until I know that it is God's will and if it's not, then I will view it as a learning situation. I will morn for what never was and I will be greatful for what can be. If I ever catch myself living in unrequented love, I'll know I'm not walking in God's path. I'll know I'm not truating in Him to guide me to what is best for me. It's not a trivial thing to try and figure out what is and what is not God's will. I have been painfully wrong on several occasions and it's... disheartening at best to discover that what you believed in your heart of hearts was just dead wrong

Laura! Yeay to hear from you! I am still sick as a dog, but I still want to know whenever you get in town.
I don't think you are expecting too much out of love... I pretty much agree with your analysis. Selfish love isn't love at all... it is using someone else because one's own heart really wants to... just because the other person may love (or wants to use) back doesn't make it all ok. It will fall apart in the end. Using isn't loving, and I think that is why there is so much divorce. Selfless love and marriage is HARD... and pretty rare I think.
God IS the ultimate example of selfless love... the above reminds me how Awesomely Amazing he is yet again.

well, I thought it tied into what you said... I hope it makes sense to someones other than myself on how that is! :) I was just going off your True love is not forbidden, etc.
I do have thoughts about your post subject itself, but that's sorta an area of my life I'm avoiding focusing on right now, so I won't directly respond... but don't think I wasn't paying attention. :-D
In other news, I was wondering if I could recruit your services in, oh, November or December. For the Peace Corps, I'm required to take two pairs of glasses with me, since I may be in an area with questionable sanitation and clean water and yadda yadda so they discourage contact lenses. Problem is, it's been a good twelve years since I've worn glasses, and the few times I have tried to find a pair so I'd have something as a back-up, I never found anything that looked good on me. Plus, Peace Corps adds all kinds of extra requirements like they have to curve enough around the ear to stay up while doing "heavy labor", and they can't be plastic frames that would warp in tropical heat and cause the lens to fall out. I think they actually are even sending me a diagram of what is required
