It's been nearly a month and I'm just now able to get to this! I'm kinda bummed I couldn't get to it sooner because I know there will be things I've forgotten. Oh well, better some than none I suppose! I am going to use/add to the timeline that Jenni, our doula, wrote up for us to start with, so it'll be more like a timeline than a paragraph ( Read more... )

Congratulations!! It's incredible just how much detail you have about the events surrounding Isaac's birth (Sean's is such a blur to me!). That doctor sounds like a real treat -- sorry that she was the one on call. Your doula sounds absolutely incredible, I'm sure her support and experience helped immensely! Congratulations again, and welcome to the world little Isaac!

Oh, I just realized that Isaac's middle name is Arthur! My dad, my brother and my nephew are all named Arthur, and so was my Grampy, so I have a huge soft spot in my heart for that name!

Arthur is my grandpa's name, too! Well, it's the one they gave him at Ellis Island. I believe his birth name was Arel? Or something like that. I had thought it was Ariel, but that was wrong.

What a great story- you did a fantastic job Laura! You should be really proud, that was a long time and you worked for your natural birth. I'm so happy that you finally have your little guy in your arms!

You did awesome! What a great birth story. Dr Kaiser sounds like a complete moron! Good grief!

How are things going for you with breastfeeding?

Hooray, thank you for posting the birth story! There are certain things I don't really understand (because I haven't been through it) so you'll have to educate me later. :)
I loved your mom's comments.
I am proud that I know the fast way to cool off washcloths. You taught me that back in college.
Love you!!!
