Peanut got a fever last night and his breathing is still for shite, so I brought him to the dr. today. He thinks he has pneumonia but if he does, it's not nearly as bad as any pneumonia I've ever had! He's practically his normal self, only sometimes I hear him breathing across the room. He's got an antibiotic and some more pulmicort and albuterol. ( Read more... )

Hey, it's better than sucking his thumb. Less likely to screw up the alignment of his teeth.

We have those binkies too! Lenore's nursing twice a day but I doubt she's getting more than three or four ounces.

And Lenore's expressing frustrations the same way too! She also likes to say "NO WAY!"

I was one of "those" moms that did the long term nursing thing. My kids -- except the smallbear, who would not co-operate -- all had their pacifier until they were "far too old" in the ma-in-law's opinion. My sis in law had kids that "never used one of those nasty things."
On the other hand, her kids were all thumb-suckers with squishy thumbnails until after they started school.

Ew, squishy thumbnails! I don't think they're nasty at all, they give them comfort when you can't, and they can cut down on the chance of SIDS. Peanut never would take one, nor did he suck his thumb. I don't think he enjoyed nursing much either (cause he was allergic to it!)

Don't stress the paci! acrow January 8 2010, 14:23:30 UTC
My little guy is still using his (he is 21 mos) and I am not going to stress it. For the most part he only gets it at bed/naptime, but when we were driving long distances we pretty much let him have it whenever, never know when he might want to nap (he hardly napped, by the way)?
