My dad has his kidney removed yesterday. Apparently there is a big tumor on it. Looks cancerous, so I don't know where he will go from here. We are meeting in CA for Christmas. He was supposed to come on 22 Dec, but he's going to be late. My mom and brother will go ahead, and he's not allowed to fly until the 25 or 26. I hope that it all works out ( Read more... )

Dude, that sucks. I can see both sides of that argument. You didn't ask for opinions so I won't give one, but know my thoughts are with you and your family.

I'm sorry to hear the news about your father, L. Very scary. Hang in there. I'd feel like an ass too, but I'm not sure if I'd change my plans either.

Hugs Laura, Sorry to hear the tough news... and THANKFUL for modern medicine! Travel plans sound like one of those issues that you look at one way and it sucks no matter whatcha do, or look at another way and there's plenty to be grateful for no matter whatcha do. Important thing is expressing love and it sounds like y'all are already doin' that :)
