I am supposed to film a band this friday....because I have made some video art before they think I know how to film...I don't. Will someone (ahem...Jem) tell me some tricks of making good videos of bands besides fast zoom ins on the the beats of music...would it be weird if I had long moments of things besides guitars, faces and hands in on zoom ( Read more... )

what's the context? you need to ask them some questions: what do they want to use the video for? are you filming a live performance, or will they play the same song over a couple of times for you? do you have a tripod, or will you be going handheld? are you going to be using only natural light? are they going to be on a stage or in somebody's basement? will there be an audience? do they just want a document of their performance or are they looking for more of an interpretive music-video style ( ... )
