Catharine's Costume
Bramwell was Harry Potter for our church Halloween party Friday night, using Samuel’s old costume. Then for his party he wore his Zorro costume.
This year, Catharine wanted to be a witch, so I made her a costume.
First, I started with the basic black dress:
When she wears just the dress with black stockings and shoes, she looks like a Victorian orphan:
Next I thought it needed an over thing to make it more witch looking, less, “Please sir, may I have some more?” She had a witch hat with shiny purple cobwebs, so I got material to match that and made this:
I made a cape to go with it. The pattern I had involved lining, so I wanted something mystical with an ahhhh factor, so I got shiny blue-ish material.
We put the whole thing together with the hat, black tights, black shoes, and a cinnamon broom and it was rather cute:
