Open offer

Feb 18, 2013 18:21

So I was busy this weekend with a house guest that I saw off this morning (I started to write got off then thought better of it with a bunch of slash writers) at the train station. I have also been busy friending all the authors that I read and a few of you even friended me back, so thank you. I have now started commenting on all the stories I ( Read more... )

Hee, got off. /is a 12 year old boy sometimes.

Hiya, no worries, I lurked for a long time too and friending doesn't bother me. And I still haven't figured out all the little tricks like tracking and mem'ing so I tend to friend people indiscriminately.

I don't use betas much unless it's for a challenge but I might take you up on that at some point. The internets definitely need more editors who know the difference between their and they're even though I know I'm guilty of this when the story's coming too quickly for my typing.

And ye-gods, every time I come across the word chocked in a story I die a little inside. Possibly I should read fewer stories involving chocking :D

Unless it's chocking the wheels on an airplane, which always takes me to a Raiders of the Lost Ark place...

Hi,

And welcome. You're very sweet for introducing yourself, and I'm certainly glad to have you aboard. None of my posts are locked, so I don't, as a rule, friend people back--you're going to have access anyway b/c nothing's flocked. Thanks for taking the time to tell us a bit about you, and as I said, welcome!

Thank you for the welcome. And don't worry I don't need to be friended back I just wanted to thank the ones who did. I mean since I don't know when or if I will start writing it's not needed. By the way I really enjoyed "More Than Words/Us".

Aw, thank you! I appreciate that. Forgive the anxious mama fretting about her littlest, but did you happen to read the timestamp? (*sad* nobody ever mentions the timestamp...)

Sorry, of course I read the timestamp it was just too easy to mention the other two longer fics by name because the similar names allowed me to smoosh them together. I thought it was a good way to show Jensen fully coming to terms with where he was in his life and everything he had gone through to get there by finally grieving for his lost son.

Of course, like I said it was an open offer. And having read your stuff you don't do too bad for not having English as your first language, but I would be glad to help where I can.

Welcome to not being a lurker. I was nice of you to introduce yourself.

And I, for one, do not think it is creepy to be friended for my fics. I am flattered! Thank you so much. I am gad you like the stuff that you've read so far!!!

Also, I was totally a wuss about posting my writing. It was so SCARY! It took me forever to get the courage to post things. I hope you find the courage soon!!!

Nice 'meeting' you.

Thank you nice to "meet" you too. I'm glad you did not mind me friending you I didn't think people would have a problem with it. But I can understand why some people may feel that way if they have had negative or rude comments and then someone they don't know friends them it may give them pause. I can understand why they would be cautious which is why I gave the offer to defriend if they wish.

And I also know I am not the only person who friends people for their fic. I have noticed some of my favorite authors will have only like 100 they have friended but have been friended by 4, 5, or 600 people so I don't feel that bad.

After all the encouragment from everyone I think I will probably write something before the year is out. So next time an idea pops in my head I'll try and go with it instead of just putting it out of my mind.

Yes I read on your page you only started writing last year and are trying to do more this year. I encourage this since I have read and liked all your stuff I just haven't commented yet. It would take too much time to go back and comment on everything I have read over the past couple of years I have been lurking without joining LJ. The only one of yours I have not read yet is 'The One worth Suffering for' which is next up and I will leave a comment for that one. But as long as I have you I just want to let you know I loved both parts of the 'Do You Love Me' verse. But especially the second where Jared does the video for 'It Gets Better' you had the tears really flowing for that one.

Thank you so much *squees* It feels good to know that something I wrote touched someone. I have tons of things I'm working on, so who knows, maybe I'll have something for you you to beta before you take the plunge and start writing yourself.
