I think perhaps I would have been less than polite to the bubbly office person and her colleagues.

I still have my little shuffle, filled with the exact same songs I put on it 8? 10? a million? years ago. It's been okay for treks to the grocery store, or helping me stay awake during endless reviews of patron accounts, but nothing beats listening to the radio on long drives when you never know what'll come next.

Yes, the serendipity of hearing a song long forgotten! That is a joyful thing. (I'm deliberately using the present tense, because I'd hate to think it was gone.)
