Back to basics

"I'm not interested in dieting anymore. Yes, I'll try to cut back on the crap and fast food, but when all is said and done, I'm not going to diet any more. It doesn't work, it doesn't help, and it encourages a feeling of failure when it doesn't work/help."

It's good to take a break sometimes, but what will you do when the number starts creeping back up the scale? I'd rather make a small adjustment all the time than having to crash diet every 2-3 months. Y'know?

If I continue to be active, I honestly don't expect the number to creep up. One of my biggest problems (exacerbated by my extremely low energy level from untreated Hypothyroidism) is that I spend literally 98% of my day on my butt or my back (sitting or sleeping, TYVM). Upping my activity levels (forcing myself up & at 'em) has always had a positive impact on my health, and I expect it to now, as well.

Additionally, by the end of the year I should have health insurance and should have my Hypo treated. The results SHOULD be that I don't gain weight as easily, and my energy levels should be at a normal human level, whereas now I'm rivaling the energy of a slug -- and I'm not exaggerating. Hypo can get worse, of course -- some Hypo sufferers can't get themselves out of bed. :(
