Is that a "you can't do it" rule or a "it's blocked at the firewall and you won't be able to get there" thing? I can help circumvent the latter.

Both. I had access to it up until last week, at which point a firewall block and warning page came up in my system. You have to ask for permission (and provide a business reason) to get to it.

I'm pretty sure getting around it would qualify me for termination, and as much as I would like a new job, I won't force myself into one. :>

Good point, no call for sticking your neck out if you don't need to.

I haven't worked anywhere they've gotten that nazi about things, but all of my web traffic is encrypted so from the network administrator's perspective it doesn't appear that I do *any* web surfing of any kind.

I have downtime at work sometimes, too, and I tend to do a lot of reading. I'm wary about doing too much web surfing, but I bring in things to read on my handheld or on a little usb zip drive. Also, I fiddle around with my exercise & weight-loss related spreadsheets.

And, you know, plotting evil schemes. ;)
