that's the part I am having trouble with...I've decided I want to introduce a trompe l'oeil something or other that they are responding to...but it's hard to figure out just what to do...sigh

Oh thanks, Kris....I am usually too nervous to do wips lol....but i really need help with this one...tomorrow is the deadline to photograph it for the application and I am at a dead standstill....
I have thought of the following as something "trompe l'oeil" to introduce in the left bottom part of the painting, as what they are looking at and responding too...
--flying saucer, popsicle on a string, vintage toy bursting through the canvas, spider or scorpion crawling on the canvas, a moth landed on it, and host of other things....not of them seem just right to me though...sigh
I am open to any and all ideas...I want it to look like it is another dimension entirely separte from the women and background...like it's really sitting, hanging, etc on or from the canvas.....

you know, just spelling out all the things I have thought of was helpful in itself....but when I re read your comment about the woman with the purple glove getting ready to swat something, it all came together...a spider it will be...it makes sense and won't be difficult to paint(a real factor at this late date)

Can't wait to see what they are reacting too...to me it kinda looks like the girl with the purple glove is fixing to take a swipe at something....
