Broke my foot yesterday...yikes...can't spend too much time sitting up at computer(have to keep it elevated)but wanted to check in...I was up in the attic and stepped through the floor where there was only insulation, no plywood...one foot went crashing through my hall ceiling and I fell on the other with an awful twist and crunch..some days it ( Read more... )

Ooo.. sorry about your foot! that's awful.. Hope you don't have to stay off it too long.

OUCH!!! Foot injuries are the worst! You feel so trapped not being able to get around - and nothing makes you as humble as when you have to ride those shopping scooters in stores (do use them, though, they are darn handy...)
I have one of those cheap wicker storage hassocks under my desk I use when I sprain gets bad, perhaps one of those could work for you so you won't be isolated from cyberspace.

oh thanks, Madeline...luckily i have a laptop so i can stay in touch in bed or whereever...but it sure is a major pain...

Oh YIKES! I'm so sorry, Lauren! That sounds like a nasty accident, AND rather a mess with having to fix the ceiling and all. I'm always scared that will happen when I have to venture into my attic...now I'll be extra careful!

Ok, I know this is awful, but why do I have this picture of your husband walking down your hallway and seeing a foot hanging down from the ceiling? One of those surreal moments to be sure, lol! Ok, I won't laugh at your pain, really, I have torn tendons in my ankle and that is really a bitch to be sure! Many many hugs, girlfriend, and yes, keep it elevated, let your hubby wait on you hand and foot (ok couldn't resist that!), let your pain meds be your friend, and stay out of your attic from now on, lol!And, that could have been a worse accident, I'm glad it was just your foot that went through! Take care of yourself!
