A lot of new releases come in vinyl. There's been a little resurgence lately. It's mainly with hipsters in tight jeans who like vinyl because of the more "authentic and rougher" sound. But I gotta wonder what they listen to while driving. haha.
Ah, good to know. I didn't think of a resurgence within recent music, but more the older stuff instead. Maybe they all drive cars with crank-starters to get really into the technology rebellion.
When I went over to one of my friends' houses in St Thomas, he was all excited because he got one of those old record players...you know the kind your grandparents probably had that was more like a hutch or a piece of furniture? Giant speakers in the front, decorated with that gold woven stuff, and then a big wooden panel you lifted up to reveal the record player within? Yeah...he was excited in the way a school boy is excited about action figures about that thing. And he played us a record. Metallica, if I remember correctly. And he pontificated on the beautiful quality of sound, etcetera. Then he showed us his growing record collection, which included new modern day bands and releases. I was totally not sure what to say.
And yeah quite a few modern bands release vinyl still. My friend got a couple for her birthday this year. I do gotta defend the hipsters though on this point.
