Damn you, Bambi!

I'm having a run of bad luck where deer keep running into my car. This makes about six times now, with one incident last month and one yesterday. My savior at the Collision Center is becoming a buddy and asked if I had a dark cloud following me ( Read more... )

I've seen a few deer on the road recently, but always in plenty of time to slow down and let them get safely back into the woods. But a guy I know actually had a deer jump on top of his car, a year or two ago. Like that, I don't know what happened to the deer, but the car definitely suffered.

And every now and then we see a corpse lying at the side of the road...

Just as long as you weren't hurt.

Eeep, much sympathy - the nearest I ever came was a kangaroo, and the idea of killing Skippy...

sounds a bit hair raising. I picture Skippy as being bigger and sturdier than a deer, and they do plenty of damage.

Oh a full size kangaroo will total the car, and if they bound out in front of you, you have not a hope of avoiding them.

The one I nearly hit was smaller, but would probably have done serious trashing of the car and me...

That is bad luck. That's enough now. Maybe you'll get some time for writing while you're home, eh? Hint, hint, hint. :) I'm glad the car was the only thing hurt. Thank God, it wasn't you.

I was fine. Who knows about the time to write. Last time most of it was hijacked by projects and babies.

I know what you mean. Try driving the speed limit (70) on I-95 and seeing out of the corner of your eye a large deer running down an embankment towards your car. We managed to avoid him but it wull set you up for a heart attack---good times.

Yep, I'm with you. Luckily all the deer I've hit haven't broken my windshield but it happens and then the deer might be in the car or truck with you.

People occasionally hit cows out my way. I will try to emit deer repelling vibes, but I'm not so sure about my psychic powers. *g*

Keep safe, won't you?

A huge hog also once hit my car. I wasn't even moving, I was stuck there, as a posse(including our sheriff) tried to herd it somewhere away from the road. Then this dumbass smacked it when it was standing next to my car and he rammed me. Did a fair amount of damage. I tell you, the insurance guys must cringe when they realize it's me on the phone again.

It's not uncommon to see cows or horses loose on the road.
