I want to post but don't know what to post about so instead I'll ask a question - what's everyone reading these days?

For some reason, autumn always makes me want to read historical fiction, so I just started "The King's Grey Mare" by Rosemary Hawley Jarman, which is about the War of the Roses. I'm also reading a bunch of comics, including Saga and Jem and the Holograms (which is adorable).

I read the first volume of Saga - I can see why people love it but it just wasn't for me. I've heard the Jem ones are awesome!

I just finished Jenny Lawson's Furiously Happy -- I HIGHLY recommend it. Over my NY trip I read Carry On (Rainbow Rowell) - and it was a hoot!

Do you think I'd enjoy it even if I don't ship Harry/Draco?

The Jem comics ARE awesome. They've been updated, but they're mostly true to the spirit of the cartoons. They improve on the cartoons in some ways, since there's one canon same-sex couple (so far), and lots of different body types.

I think any HP fen will get something out of it, for sure. Seeing how it works in a lot of the meta (esp on Ginny and Dumbledore) was a big part of why I loved it.

Just finished "The Martian," and loved it. I'm trying to psych myself up for "The Brothers Karamazov" next--never read it--but the page count is daunting.

OMG I did Karamazov during my university years - I never did finish it. If you haven't done Crime and Punishment, or Stendal's the Red and the Black, do those instead ;)

I liked the Martian movie, but I'm so swamped I don't think I'll get time to read the book!
