An Alternate view of The Hunger Games (WARNING: SPOILERS FOR THE OTHER BOOKS!)

So I finally went to see The Hunger Games last night, I loved the books so I was excited for the movie. As far as adaptations go it puts me in mind of Goblet of Fire; I loved Goblet of Fire...for what it was, it focussed on ONE part of the novel and let the rest fall by the wayside, but I was okay with that because it covered that one part WELL. Brilliant thinking!! I just finished the books a couple of days ago and was pleasantly surprised by how good they were. I plan on seeing the movie tomorrow!

Why thank you haha :)

I too was pleasantly surprised by how good the books were. The acting in the movie was good, but there was a lack of character development, a lack of explanations, and I'd say a good 90% of the characters didn't look how I imagined them haha

This is a FANTASTIC idea. I listened to all the books, rather than read them (I couldn't FIND them here) so I missed the fact that Crane was part of the uprising. IT ALL MAKES SENSE. I'm tempted to say that Collins didn't plan it this way, but if she did? My respect levels rose about a zillion percent.

I'm betting she didn't do it on purpose either, but all the hints are there if you just put them together the right way haha. I am tempted to write her now and find out for sure!

Sad to say no, because Seneca was not part of the uprising..he dies by President Snow, and Plutarch is actually the game maker that is on rebellion side

but if that wasnt the case there is a very very good argument there

Egads you're right! I forgot Plutarch's name hahaha...it still COULD be possible since it's not confirmed one way or the other if Crane was part of what was going on or not, the movie certainly made it seem like he was.
