Re: I was in a very bitchy moodroarkApril 30 2004, 04:48:42 UTC
I get my haircut once or twice a year by a woman in Chesterfield. This is mostly because she was the first person that ever cut my hair and didn't make it look stupid. I think the reason is she also cuts my mom's hair, and my mom and I have a similar head and hair. Thus, it's like she's already familiar with my head.
Anyway, I am going to go ask her to give me a mullet in a few weeks. I can't wait to see the look on her face.
LISTEN LAUREN AS SOON AS THE COOKIES LEAVE OUR POSESSION WE TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS; WE SUGGEST YOU TRACK DOWN THE COOKIES THEMSELVES AND HOLD THEM RESPONSIBLE
LaurenNugget: why are they called "boards of canada?"
The name is in tribute to the Film Board of Canada, or so I've read. I have always assumed this is a Canadian organisation that has its hands in film-making somehow. Perhaps it is like the Motion Picture Association of America, or maybe it's some independent film critic bureau or something.
I don't know if there are more boards. I read about it like 3 years ago, and I recall infering that the guys in that band were all into films or some shit. Then they needed a band name, so they took "The Film Board of Canada" and made it plural (like a band name) and then got rid of the film part of it.
It seems funny because even if you know that shit about the board name... it's like "each member of this band is a board of Canada" and if you don't know the history, then I guess you think "each member of this band is a wooden slat from Canada."
