I honestly think that the movies are really well cast across the board, and it's hard for me to pick just a few favorites. I also think that because I really encountered the movies first, I didn't have pre-conceived ideas about the characters and that has made me embrace the film actors more readily in their roles. The films are also a veritable treasure-trove of the best of British film and stage actors and many - Rickman, Broadbent, Smith, Isaacs - were people I'd known well from other things and already loved. Griffiths, Thewlis, Williams, Walters, and Spall all became people whose other work I wanted to seek out after encountering them in the HP films, and I cannot tell you how tickled I am that they've made one of my favorite offbeat actors - Rhys Ifans - Xeno Lovegood. A better mix of actor and character, I think you'd be hard pressed to find.
The younger actors have also consistently impressed me, especially their improvement as they've grown. Matt Lewis and Evanna Lynch have grown on me steadily, and I especially like Matt's work in the last couple of films. I've always enjoyed Dan and Emma's performances too, though I know they've both had some growing pains as actors. But, I must admit, my absolute favorite...well...
What can I say, I'm as much of a Rupert fangirl as I am a Ron fangirl... :D
