1) i think it depends if Terry knows the person. If s/he does, then s/he should help pay for the gift. if Terry was just invited to keep Kris company, then I would say no.

2) 1. b or d, 2. a

HOPE EVERYTHING IS WELL OVER THERE.

#1- too confusing for me, i don't know. i think it depends on whether terry knows the host, as well as on a bunch of other factors, including the financial situation of both people, and the relationship between the two.

#2- i haven't been to very many funerals and when i have gone it has mostly just been to show support, so i guess that is f. and depending on the situation, b. and i have no idea why, since i don't really have a custom, i don't think it can have any roots.

basically, i sucked at your surveys and didn't want to answer, but i wanted to participate :-p

what if i put it in danielle terms?

Ryan and Tanielle are dating. Ryan gets invited to a wedding for his friend from high school. He invites Danielle.. errr, I mean Tanielle along as his guest. Tanielle knows Ryan's friend through Ryan, but is not really friends with him. Does Tanielle chip in for the gift or does Ryan pay for the whole gift? Do they split it 50/50?

lol, you're ridiculous. tanielle would chip in for the gift, probably 50/50, unless of course that friend is an ex-girlfriend and tanielle is already paying half of the costs to drive to pittsburg and stay in a hotel in order to go to said wedding.

(hmm... and i'm going to another wedding next weekend for someone i don't really know very well, and have to spend $ to drive to virginia and stay in a hotel again... haven't discussed it yet tho...)

hmmm, I don't really think it would be fair for andrew to pay for the gift regardless of how long you've been together. i kinda feel like if it's your friend then you should pay. i mean, i guess he gets a free meal out of it too, but who really wants to go to a strangers wedding.

okay, so catholics pretty much send food and cards? not flowers? who does this flower crap then?

i think fewer and fewer people are doing flowers lately, in fact a lot of funeral/wakes i've been to/heard about lately, the family asks not to send flowers and to make a donation to a charity or foundation or something instead, because who really wants a ton of flowers? they just die.
