The other thing about my landlords' vine and fig tree, unfortunately, is the fact that the figs right now are both very large and very ripe, which means that they fall off the tree when you're crossing the driveway and hit the concrete with a resounding splat, and the next thing you know you're up to your ankles in fig goo and the bees adore you
