Closed; Cecilia Jacobs at St. Mungo's

Ever since her attach, about two months ago now, Lavender had been going into St. Mungo's for routine blood work and check ups. It had been an absolute miracle that she had escaped the Burning Man but there was the possibility, even after they had managed to calm her down, that she wouldn't survive the night. The poison she had ingested had been ( Read more... )

Cecilia had thrown herself back into her work ever since returning from her small recovery- even three days away from the hospital, three days holed up in Daphne's flat was enough to drive her a bit bonkers, not to mention the actual memory issues she was dealing with. She had been going through old books, vaguely chatting up other Healers in memory healing and doing whatever it was she could to try and figure out how to fix that blank time in her head. The run-in with her mother did nothing to soothe her nerves, only increasing the paranoia seeping into her skin.

But the paranoia was something Cecilia lived with on a daily basis, ever since running to Dumbledore all those years ago.

The holidays had been an incredible distraction. She'd been able to spend some truly quality time with her brother and his family, enjoying pretending to be a toddler again with Madeline.

And then there was George. Between his incredible gift and that charm hanging around her neck, she had been happy enough but he loved her, too. It had her downright ( ... )

It was strange to feel a sense of comfort at the sight of Cecilia. There had been such a tension between the two of them due to her relationship with George and the Witch Weekly posts. It hadn't been until their double date, which started off as awkward and uncomfortable as she imagined it would, that Lavender began to relax around the former Slytherin. A few bottles of wine, mention of an ancient Italian castle, and shared school girl crushes - the two girls were absolutely giddy by the end of dinner.

If anybody had to be her healer, she was glad it was her. If anything, it was much easier going through these tests with somebody her own age rather than an older healer that had kind, sympathetic eyes that just made Lavender feel worse about herself. Cecilia had a way of making her feel comfortable without dancing around the bigger picture.

"Cecilia, hey-" she said, shifting her bag on her shoulder as they started down the hallway.

It had taken Cecilia years to try and grow comfortable around the former classmates she used to taunt and tease. She had been terrible back then, too cowardly to stand on her own and instead joined in with the other girls in her house. She hated to even think about it but seeing Lavender always did bring those memories back into focus.

Still, she had come to like Lavender quite a bit. She was charming and sweet. Her relationship with George was incredibly important to him and so that meant it was important to her as well.

She led her down the hallway, her charts clasped against her bright St. Mungo's sanctioned robes. Typically, they were to have their appointments in one of the patient rooms but today Cecilia thought it might be nicer to chat in her office.

"You know, I lost track of you on New Year's Eve-" she said, still smiling. "But the party was really lovely-"

From what she saw of it, anyway, considering all the time spent locked up in that bathroom with George.

"I'm glad you had a good time. Actually, Roger sort of swept me away before midnight-" she asked, throwing Cecilia a sheepish smile as they turned the corner.

Back at school Lavender would have never guessed she would be confiding in Cecilia for anything - let alone her love life. Though, it was fitting in a way. The majority of their tension stemmed from Lavender's strange relationship with George.

While Lavender may have felt a small tinge of jealousy over Cecilia entering George's life. Partly for the romantic aspect but mostly due to the idea of George having a new woman in his life that may, after so many years, mean more to him than Lavender did. She didn't want to lose him the way she had lost Roger all those years ago.

Now that her relationship with Roger felt more secure, Lavender didn't feel so threatened by Cecilia.

"He had a picnic set up at the Magpie's pitch for us to watch the fireworks."
