If you were putting together a music list for a female war bard, what songs would you include? Obvious choices are Heather Alexander's "March of Cambreadth" and "Battle for Mosque Al Amu." What other songs are there by female vocalists that would inspire wizards and elves in battle?

Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush? The lyrics aren't especially war-ish, but the drums and the feeling of the song make me think of what you're looking for.

Now, that's a direction I hadn't thought of. Thank you!

Does it have to have vocals or would mostly instrumental work?

Morrighans Quest from Legends of the Goddess

March of the Celts by Enya (sorry, I only have a link to the lyrics)

A Last Battle from Freedom, Flight & Fantasy

The Patterns of Amber from Freedom, Flight & Fantasy (yes, I know it is supposed to be specific to the Amber series, but the music might work for a battle song)

Night Ride Across The Caucasus by Loreena McKennit from The Book of Secrets always sounded to me like a weary from battle song. YMMV.

That is all I can think of at the moment.

Now I am very curious as to what is afoot.

It's just for inspiration for an RPG character of mine. Music is really helpful to me when I'm developing characters.

I love Night Ride Across the Caucasus, and I think it would work. I don't have any of the others, but I'll look for them. Thank you!

If you like metal music, I'd recommend anything by Doro Pesch, or her band Warlock!
