Quoting Mean Girls in a school paper hell yeah

This week has been about me having a ton of things to do and basically doing none of them. Everything is getting done on time, just not in a timely manner. My first Hall Council meeting was this week and yesterday was an all day Leadership Retreat. Plus, I've been feeling like super crap and after I finish my paper, I may ask my roommates to take ( Read more... )

Communication with a concentration in Culture and Media. I think I might want to do research and my school has a focus on qualitative research and several of the professors are already doing research in critical media. And I think it's pretty obvious how much I love media and talking about it and writing about it. And maybe I could teach too?

You sound much more focused :) Although "concentration" in ALL THE CULTURE AND MEDIA EVER is still a bit broad. :D

Research can be very rewarding (and never-ending); you may need some statistics/math courses, even if it's qualitative, but it sounds like a fun area. Do what you truly love and careers will open up.

If you know the profs, you could ask them to show you some of the ins and outs of what they're doing, see if you enjoy the daily grind of it. And if you go for upper level courses or grad work, there should be opportunities to be a T.A./grad assistant and see if that's for you.

Well, personally, I'd love to focus on feminism and female roles on network television. But they don't offer that in undergrad. ;)

I've taken an intro stats class, which I hope will be enough because I did not enjoy it a lot. I know that one of the professors recently wrote a book about women's roles in The Bachelor so maybe I can get into that kind of research area.

One of my professors who I spoke to said that she was offered a funding assistantship to attend grad school and teach so that would be the best possible scenario because I would like the least amount of loans possible.

I desperately need to catch up on Leverage. I'm on episode three of the season XD Damn Teen Wolf. It's literally the only show I kept with over the summer. I'm behind on Leverage and White Collar and I still haven't started The New Normal.
