[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]
Name: Saralegui
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Fandom: Kyo Kara Maoh!
Timeline: Right after episode 108 (events of that episode are summarized
here)
History:
Here Character Personality: Saralegui (or "Sara", as he asked Yuuri to call him) is a young man very much shaped by his past experiences. His mother was gone before he could remember her, and his father almost entirely ignored him, leaving his care to various nannies who never gave him the same love they gave their own children. As a result of this very lonely childhood, Sara has grown up rather starved of affection. He doesn't seem to think so himself, however; he's forsaken most kinds of real interpersonal relationships as something he's strong enough to do without. Besides, who needs the love of a parent when the lust of a short-term affair is plenty good enough? Still, he does crave the acknowledgment he was never given as a child. Where his mother apparently didn't care enough to stick around for him, and his father hardly acknowledged that he existed, Sara vowed that he would one day become a greater king than his father, so that everyone would have to respect, fear, love - acknowledge him. So far, at least, he's doing a pretty good job of it; Sara is an ambitious king who has done much and would do anything to improve the status of his country, thus making himself an even better king.
However, it's both difficult and rare to see this more vulnerable, affection-seeking side of him. Sara is prideful and a little bit vain, and always makes an effort to appear cool and charismatic to all. He's cynical, taking in the shallow compliments of various nobles with a smile even as he knows that they only want to be on the good side of the king for their own benefit. He knows that he is looked down upon for being young and inexperienced, yet this only pushes him to be even better. No matter what, Sara refuses to play puppet to anyone else's schemes. He is very much a hypocrite, though - he sees no problem with using others as tools to his own ends. In this manner, he's also very possessive. If he thinks something (or someone, in the case of Yuuri) belongs to him, then it's his and he will not stand to see it taken away from him.
Overall, Sara is playful and mischievous, often going about plans in a more risky manner if only because doing so is more "fun" or "interesting" for him. He's a selfless king for selfish reasons - giving everything for his people not because he cares about them, but because doing so will make him a greater king than the father he wants to prove he's better than. He puts up a front of being sweet, kind, gentle and generous because it makes people trust him more, and with that trust people become much easier to twist to his own ends.
In terms of his vanity, Sara is very much aware of how pretty he is and what effect he has on people, and he has no problem taking advantage of it. He's willing to play on people's sympathies and appeal to their desire to protect, acting much more innocent and vulnerable than he really is if it will help him. But at the same time, he does have his pride as a man; he would never just start crying in public (or at all for that matter, if he can help it), even to make people feel bad for him, and if he's in a bad mood he's likely more prone to snap at anyone trying to take care of him. He's more than able to take care of himself, after all. He's rather fond of sex too, but that shouldn't come as a surprise, even considering how he looks - he's a seventeen year old boy. Can you really expect much else? In relation to that particular activity, Sara generally prefers men, but he wouldn't automatically write off a woman simply because she's a woman. In the world that his country, Small Shimaron is a part of, there is no such concept as limiting yourself to one gender. He might prefer men (woman are catty and too easily upset and need to be taken care of and such situations usually just end with a sort of passive competition to be the more beautiful between them), but if a woman who appealed to him came along, he would give it a chance.
Character Abilities:
+Sara's eyes allow him to give absolute orders and bend others to his will. Likely a result of his being half-Shinzoku (the native race of the hidden country of Seisakoku, whose natural magical ability is so strong that the people of other countries gave them a name that referred to their godlike power), this power manifests itself in the form of an bright blue glow in his eyes when he chooses to use it. His glasses seem to block this power, as he always takes them off before using it. He can use this as much as his energy permits, and it always works (though the strong-willed may show an attempt at resistance, and only Yuuri has been shown as able to resist it entirely), but due to Sara's playful nature, he usually would save this only for when really needed, preferring to manipulate people the old-fashioned way - lying, seduction, altering situations to fit his own needs, ect.
+Being half-human, half-Shinzoku, Sara is later in the series shown to be the chosen wielder of the Holy Sword of Seisakoku, which only allow any use at all by halfbloods. Sara can access the sword's full power, bringing both destruction and creation at his whim.
+Though not quite a genius or a super-intellectual, Sara is very clever, able to guess at people's reactions and come up with plans on the fly, and then more plans should some new development arise that calls for change. He's also willing to take risks in order to make his plans work and will even use himself as his own most valuable chess piece if needed - such as an instance in which he had his bodyguard fire an arrow at Yuuri, so that he could "save" Yuuri from what appeared to be an assassination attempt by taking the blow himself, an act that not only gained him Yuuri's trust but caused Yuuri to destroy Sara's enemies in a fit of rage.
+Natural charm and good looks? While not so much a power, it is something he puts to good use. After all, he's just a sweet, innocent, kind, pretty young boy, right? How could he ever be guilty of any wrongdoing? It's rather handy in gaining people's trust and their support as well. People are more likely to want to help you when you're beautiful, after all, and Yuuri mentioned how pretty he thought Sara was so many times that it really made one begin to question the boy's heterosexuality. For someone who spent over 70 episodes completely oblivious to the love of his own very pretty, very male accidental-fiance Wolfram, Yuuri is pretty quick to go all blushy around Sara, and stares at the blonde king's lips more than once.
Character Weaknesses: Sara is much more of a strategist than an actual fighter, so he'll need a bit of training before he can be of any use with a weapon. His drive to be acknowledged can also be somewhat self-destructive, as he would harm even those who matter to him in order to advance his own plans, and this tends to push others away when hat he might need most of all is someone who cares. Also of note is that his bodyguard, Belias, tends to act as his conscience, and would under normal circumstances tell Sara when something isn't a good idea, so by himself Sara is more likely to get himself into trouble by taking risks that are just too big. Also, his world is a feudal, medieval European-based one, so any more modern technology will be new to him. He's a quick learner at least, but this will definitely be issues at first.
[ MEISTER SECTION ]
Why your character should be a Meister: As a King, and also just considering his personality, Sara delights in being in control. It's unlikely that he's ever allow himself to be a tool for someone else's use.
[ SOUL INFORMATION ]
Soul Description: Ambitious, Cunning, Confident, Hypocritical, Mischievous, Lonely
Soul Appearance: As powerful as he is, both in magic, status and personality, Sara's Soul would likely be as large as he is, a bright lavender ball of light with an ethereal glow to it.

...Ridiculous. I have my own country's wars to worry about, why must I be involved in this place's? Fine, if this war must end before I can return home, then so be it - I will help them end it all the sooner. But if they think I will allow them to tear me from my throne and not suffer any retaliation, then they are sorely mistaken.
...What is this thing they gave me anyway? A portable...something or other, I barely understood what that man was saying. "'Awdiyo' and 'vidiyo' entries" and other strange words and--
...What do you mean this is being broadcast? Damn it all...

Despite his title, Saralegui was not really one to adorn himself with jewels or overly ornate clothing. Such things were meant to make ugly women more attractive by dressing them up in distractingly pretty finery, and he knew that he was by no means "ugly". As such, the blonde preferred his more understated outfits - neutrally colored tunics and robes, high boots, more colorful or embroidered shirts for formal gatherings - the things that showed off his natural beauty without competing against it to be looked at.
Even still, Sara was not at all enjoying the strange piece of clothing he'd woken up in. A horribly dull grey color, and not very flattering at all...hardly a fitting piece for a king to be wearing.
He rolled his golden eyes before looking over the letter in his hands once more. He wasn't stupid. Far from it, really. As much as he would like to believe that this was a very elaborate joke (though really, who would dare to pull a prank on him? No one who worked in the castle, of that much he was certain), just by taking in the scene around him he could tell that such a situation was unlikely. For someone to have gotten him out of his own clothes, into these new ones, and onto a cot in wherever-this-was, they would have needed to drug him, at the very least. There was no way he would have simply slept through such treatment. And as he last remembered falling asleep in his bed back at his own castle, that would meant that his kidnappers would have had to get through all of the palace's security, and then Belias on top of that. Too improbable.
So for the time being, he had to accept that he'd been somehow transported to what appeared to be an underground prison in order to serve out a life sentence, as strange as that sounded. Denial would only be a waste of time, time he could be spending looking for a way out. No doubt Belias was already searching for him like mad, but Sara was never one to just sit idly back and wait to be rescued. At the very least, he could try to find a way to get a message to his bodyguard.
As he stood up to explore his cell, first trying the door, the king decided that escape might not be that hard after all. Really, who left a prisoner's cell unlocked? With a slight smile, he pushed open the door to continue his exploration. With the way his luck was going, he could simply find the main entrance and stroll out without a problem. Yes, everything would be fine.
