I am so happy this area of history is being covered and done so well. This is just such a thoughtful, intelligent, well-written piece that I am gushing and not really coherant right now.

This was really good! I like Hetalia fics that take a look at events as well as relationships, and relationships beyond shipping(although those are fun too LOL). That period of history is fascinating to me---I got interested in it from Larry Gonick's "History of the Universe Part Three". Also, a really great book titled "What's Right with Islam", author's name Raub (or Rauf?) talks about that time of peaceful interaction as a model for current and future Western/Muslim relations. Looking forward to the rest of your fic! :D

This was awesome, and just at a time when I was researching Spain's history too!

Myself, I was thinking Tartessos would be his mommy. Then Rome was like his (foster) papa, Germania his uncle. Then the Ummayad's come in, but by that time he's in his rebellious teenager phase, and spends the next 700 years trying to get his independence. ^__^
