Good heavens, Lavender, what a way to celebrate Tolkien's 126th! I am so sorry to hear you were hurt. I hope your other hand is unharmed, you can raise a glass to the Professor. Cheers! And may you stay upright out on the ice, if you are forced to go back out. We've been in the deep freeze (-17, -18 for the lows, just below zero for the highs), but it hasn't been icy. I think I prefer the deep freeze. Better fortune in the new year, and feel better soon!
Yes, it is much better it is my left wrist that is sore and not the right. *clinks glass with you* It wasn't ice, but the pre-storm hugs drop in barometric pressure that was making me dizzy and clunky that contributed to the fall. But I think we have some ice now. We have barely an inch of snow. The DC area is notoriously panicky about our little snows compared to the massive amounts you have to deal with, but since small snows do tend to come with ice that gives us tons of accidents, maybe we should be--thank you, my friend!
I am glad to hear (reading ahead) that you are able to do work from home and that the snow accumulation so far is low. I remember one winter when you posted photos of cars on your street nearly buried in snow. Keep those kitties close!!! 😻
good heavens, what bad news. No matter what the Feds call tomorrow.....YOU call in sick. Eh? Have Moo do it for you....that should have them properly confuzzled...
and feel better soon! *Clink* and *clink* and ......*CLINK*.....that's a large drink-clink!
There was a huge drop in barometric pressure before the storm yesterday that was making me dizzy--that definitely contributed to my clunky walking, so I'm blaming the pre-storm action. And we've been granted unscheduled telework today so I am home with a sleepy Moo beside me. I do ask them sometimes to make me dinner when I come home exhausted, but so far, they haven't complied. *clinks last night's goblet of strawberry wine with you*
I know exactly what you mean! I'm glad you weren't seriously hurt. Hopefully you'll be able to rest at home.
Happy New Year, my friend. It's snowing HARD here, and is incredibly windy. Pip and I just ran outside, stayed out long enough for her to do her business, and ran back inside.
The outrunning often works, doesn't it? Not this time. The wrist is achy with a bruise, but I think it will be OK. And they let us telework to day to keep us off the icing roads, so I am happily beside a sleeping Moo.
Poor you and Pip having to go out in it. I'm glad Pip got to acclimate to a couple of gentler storms before this one came which is really lucky, but it still must be so hard having to pee in the wind--poor little trooper. What a winter this is turning out to be. Your trial by ice. Stay warm, sweetie!
