you've learned that you can't hold onto every final crossword puzzle and big hair-do, but you can hold onto some things like sparkly fairy wings and ribbons off of flowers.
that a room filled with flowers makes it far brighter.
that tears will come, and it's okay.
that you have to laugh at your own jokes even if no one else does. because then at least someone is laughing.
that flowers, though outstandingly beautiful do not and cannot always make complete amends.
that stage lights are the most intense and stunning thing.
that you simply live to hear them laugh.

that you love them back so hard it literally hurts.
that seeing one of your best friends in the front row is the world to you.
that you're not going to forget.
that they sure as hell won't either.
that a tight tight hug can make things feel so much better.
that grande non-fat chais are not even so good as those you drink them with.
that singing at the top of your lungs is completely necessary.
that the reason you're so sad is because you're terrified out of your
mind that you'll never find people like them or as good as them or as
talented or funny as them again. that's why.
