i cant tell you what to do. you hafta figure it out.
but i will say that it seems to me that if you dont go to take care of your mom you might regret it for a long time. some things are more important than some extra cash as well.
Nothing in this world is financially secure. Money comes and goes. You only get one mom, and if you're close to her then you need to be with her as much as you can. Have faith that if you do the right thing now, things will work out for you later on.
I get the sense that walking dogs will make you much happier than working at that job. Your mom's health and your own mental health are much more important than money.
I just wanted to say, if you don't spend this time with your mom, you might always regret it. I was thinking keeping your job (cobra is super expensive) but maybe live with your mom and spend as much time with her as you can.
My mom died of ALS two years ago. My step-dad and I took care of her (with some help from others). It was worth the time, even though I ended up without a job when she died. My parents were able to pay me a small stipend for the hours I worked. I wish you the best as you and your mom go through this hellish disease.
