Just when things were looking up for Harry, he's landed himself in the hospital with pneumonia.... Ginny too. Poor Ginny! I wish my anti-sneeze mosturizing creme worked for pneumonia, but Mum said it doesn't. Now that I've finished my homework for the day, I should visit them. Aren't you proud? I actually finished my work for today! It's been so ( Read more... )

"I would love to play," Harry said earnestly, nodding his head and scooting over on the bed as he pulled himself into an upright seated postion.

"I can't believe you thought to bring this," he added.

"Well, I realised that stargazing outside tonight was completely unlikely with you having pneumonia, and all," she said with a half wink, "so I had to bring something." Her smile broadened as she hopped up on the bed next to Harry. "I guess we can keep Ginny's blanket over here until she wakes up," she said quietly with a giggle.

And at that, she layed the blanket across both her and Harry before spreading the cards out between them. "You strong enough to shuffle, or should I?" She asked with a sly grin.

"Not funny," he replied, narrowing his eyes at her. As he snatched the cards up, however, he realized that he really did probably need the full use of both hands in order to be able to do it properly.

He glanced uneasily at his wrist, and then back up at Lavvy with a sheepish expression and a frustrated blush. "Um...maybe you should do it," he muttered.

Lavender looked down at his wrist and immediately felt awful. "Oh, Harry, I didn't mean to..." She too blushed, mostly because she couldn't find the right words to finish her sentence. She took the cards back with an apologetic look and shuffled. Hoping he wouldn't pay too much attention to her insensitivity, she looked up at him and asked, "Which version would you like to play?"

He couldn't resist her excitement at describing it, and a bright smile lit his face. "Yeah, I guess it wouldn't be so bad. In fact, I think it's pretty close to what my past few days have been like in here. Except that I feel pretty miserable still and I haven't gotten all that much attention," he said, making sure to pout again for a few seconds before laughing it off.

Lavender pouted sympathetically with him and said, "I'm sorry you still feel sick, but Madame Pomfrey will take care of you," she smiled and added, "And whatever Madame Pomfrey can't do, your friends will do by keeping you company." She really enjoyed Harry's company, especially when she beat him at cards.

"Haven't many of your friends come to visit you?" Lavender asked, wondering why he felt a lack of attention.

"No, they have," Harry responded with a nod. "It just gets really boring in here really fast when everybody's in class and..." He sighed.

"But Madame Pomfrey did say that she thought I could go back to the dorm on Thursday and go to class on Friday."

Lavender understood. "I know how it can be when you're by yourself with nothing to do, but hopefully you will be able to go back on Thursday. We miss you in the common room." She smiled sweetly at him and looked around her.

It had gotten quite late as they were having fun playing cards and talking. Lavender yawned in realization of the time.
