If you were a person with Asian immigratory (I hope I used the right word) background and wanted to take five or six Chinese business contacts to an upscale restaurant that isn't so posh you'd need to book a table several months in advance, where in London would you go?

Depends on the type of food you want.

The Cinnamon Club (Westmister) and Zaika (Kensington High Street)are both Asian/Indian cuisine and absolutely excellent. We've gotten same day tables at both using the company name. Ken Lo's Memories of China (Blegravia)is first rate Chinese and again we've gotten same day table using the company name. The Lotus - Chinese Floating can be a tad more awkward to get a reservation. Phoenix Palace (Baker St.) is a little gem of a restaurant that often gets overlooked.

For good old European cuisine then there's Maggie Jones (Kensington) favourite of Princess Margaret and of course The River Cafe (Thames Wharf) although it can be a more tricky but we've gotten same or next day tables and its perfect if they open up the outside on a balmy evening.

All the top hotels like The Dorchester, The Savoy and The Royal Garden have high quality restaurants.

Okay shutting up now. O. xx

I know when I won that Help - - - Auction, I asked for SGA. I have totally gotten into BBC Sherlock since then. If you would prefer to write something in that genre, it would work for me :-) And still no rush.
